What a night it was. . . we laughed, we danced, we awarded. The first ever Coach Tourism Awards was a huge success and the whole industry celebrated on the evening of the 17th May 2006 at the Ricoh Arena. We had first class entertainment in Bobby Davro and Willie Thorne guided us through the evening with a sporty and fun flavour.
Whether as an individual or a limited company, to prepare an entry, make it through the judging process and emerge as the best in each category is some achivement. And every winner thoroughly deserves the accolades, and of course, the public relations benefits.
There was a choice of 13 categories to compete for. Depending on the award, the winners were determined by votes or entry. Entry is always designed to be as simple as possible; the guiding principle is "if you don't enter, you can't win." And in 2006 we were rewarded with a very healthy response. Our sincere thanks to all those who voted and/or entered. Please do so again this year.
The 14th category was the Special Award, presented purely at the discretion of the judging panel and seeks to reward and recognise an individual who in the judges opinion has made an outstanding contribution to the coach tourism industry.
